The interviews were tape-recorded in 1995 in Salt Lake City by Brit Allan Storey, the Bureau of Reclamation's senior historian, then edited and published in 2008, thirteen years later. The status line reads open for research, and a statement of donation and an introduction come before the testimony.

The front matter also says how the transcript is printed. The record copy goes to the National Archives and Records Administration in College Park, Maryland, on 20 lb., 100% cotton, archival quality paper. Every other copy is printed on normal duplicating paper. The Bureau sorted its own transcripts by expected lifespan and recorded the sorting in the front matter.

The interview itself starts with the speaker's birth in Montrose, Colorado.
