R. Bryan Erb oral history, Johnson Space Center, 1999
Oral history transcript, 69 pages, of R. Bryan Erb, interviewed by Carol Butler for the Johnson Space Center Oral History Project in Houston on 14 October 1999. It begins with his boyhood in Calgary and his path to AVRO.

Carol Butler's first question asks how Erb got interested in aviation and aerospace and how that led to AVRO. His answer goes back to the fifth grade at Earl Grey Elementary School in Calgary, where a visitor billed as an explorer came to speak to the class. Erb says he was interested in space before he was interested in aviation.
AVRO is A. V. Roe Canada, builder of the Arrow interceptor. After the Arrow was cancelled in February 1959, a number of its engineers were recruited by NASA's new Space Task Group, and that migration is the reason a Canadian aircraft company appears in a Johnson Space Center oral history project. The session took place in the offices of the Signal Corporation in Houston. Kevin Rusnak and Sandra Johnson assisted Butler.
